Soft X-ray absorption spectroscopy

NEXAFS spectrocopy in the soft X-ray region is performed at  BLiX with a laboratory spectrometer. This spectrometer is based on a laser-produced plasma source [1] in combination with an efficient transmission setup using reflection zone plates as dispersive optics [2]. The setup facilitates static and transient measurements with 500 ps time resolution. The transmission setup can accomodate both thin films[3] and solutions[4]. We develop both hardware and software to make this setup an optimal complementary instrument for measurements at BESSY II.
