Seminar series Building-integrated photovoltaics: basics, architectual design, construction
On November 12th and 19th, the advisory office for Building-integrated Photovoltaics (BIPV) "BAIP" together with the Berlin Chamber of Architects will hold a seminar for architects on the topic of building-integrated photovoltaics: basics, design, execution.
The series of seminars is primarily aimed at architects who want to find out about new design possibilities with photovoltaics but is also of interest to project developers, investors and planners.

The integration of photovoltaics (PV) into the building envelope is a central component for the future climate-friendly energy supply. Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV) has a unique role to play in tapping the excellent potential for PV in buildings. BIPV is characterized by the fact that photovoltaic elements are an integral part of the building envelope and become multifunctional building elements. These differ in many aspects from classic on-roof solar systems since the aim is to achieve both design and energy quality. For the economical operation of PV systems, the legal framework of the EEG and the resulting possible operator models are particularly important.
The participants will get an overview of the implementation and design possibilities of building-integrated photovoltaics, BIPV, in façade and roof. All important aspects of the current status of BIPV will be communicated. This also includes an overview of photovoltaic materials and recent photovoltaic research. Furthermore, the challenges from a technical, regulatory and economic point of view will be discussed. After completing the seminars, the participants will know the essential building and energy law requirements as well as the aspects of fire protection and the different operator models.
