cryo-TEM
cryo-TEM
We also run the new cryo-TEM located at the Joint Laboratory of Structural Research (Adlershof) and provide the necessary service to the users of this instrument. The new cryo-TEM has been set up in April 2011. It will serve the users of the HZB as a long term project by combining with beamline applications. It consists of plunge freezer (FEI Vitrobot™) and a 200 kV JEOL JEM 2100 transmission electron microscope. A high tilt cryo transfer holder (Gatan 914™) covering a tilting range from ± 80° enables the performance of cryo electron tomography.
Its special features are:
-
Variable acceleration voltage up to 200kV
-
LaB6 cathode with cool beam illumination
-
Minimum dose system for sensitive samples
-
Alpha selector for illumination conditions
-
Dedicated vacuum system for cryo-TEM
-
TVIPS 4x4k fast scan CCD camera
-
Single tilt cryo holder (high tilt from 0° - 80°)
